The restoration of the Norman Timbs Buick Special is complete. The car made its debut at Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance in March, 2010 and won the RM Auctions Trophy-Best Open Car award. It also won 1st place in the American Sport Customs Class at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in 2011. The car can also be found in Rodders' Journal issue 48 and on Dennis Gage's My Classic Car, Season 15-Episode 4-2011.

Built in 1948, the Timbs Buick Special is a mid engine Straight-8 Buick with an independent rear suspension, utilizing 1947 Ford parts, a 1947 Ford front suspension and two main frame rails constructed out of 5" tubing.

The all aluminum body was designed by Norman Timbs.

The current owner of the car has done an extensive amount of research on the history of the car, as well as getting a great start on the restoration.

We were fortunate enough to be given the chance to finish this outstanding piece of automotive history.
